Songs of the week include pop, dance, and rap tunes from the past 10 years!
Welcome to another edition of Songs of the week. If you are new, welcome! Each week I pick songs that I’m currently enjoying. They could be new tunes, throwback, or something that’s been around for a while. It’s my chance to share my love of music with the interweb.
This week I thought I’d mix it up for songs of the week. I was on YouTube and got sucked into various music videos. I saw the top 100 Most Viewed Songs which intrigued me, so I listened. Out of the top 100 songs I picked my top songs from the list in no particular order. I’d love to hear what songs off this list are your favorite.
Miley Cyrus- Party in the USA:
I love Miley Cyrus; I think she is an interesting person, and she is someone who I’d enjoy in my life cause she’s crazy but deep down I bet she’s a sweet girl. This song is cheesy but fun.
One Direction- Drag Me Down:
I don’t typically like One Direction, but this song is probably my favorite by them. I think Harry Styles looks awful with long stringy hair, if you need long hair, man bun it! lol.
Rhianna- Only Girl:
I love Rhianna, and this is a fun song, not my favorite Rhianna song, but it’s still catchy. I think she’s stunning and kind of crazy but someone I’d want to be friends with because she would always have a good story. I also want to find a random flower meadow like in the video, so beautiful!
Katy Perry- Last Friday Night:
The lyrics to this song sound like a wild and crazy night that I want to experience and the video is fun!
Jessie J featuring Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj- Bang Bang:
This is one of my recent favorite songs. I love the energy in this song and Jessie J and Ariana Grande have amazing voices!
Eminem- Not Afraid:
Eminem is my favorite rapper because he is talented and maybe his lyrics are a little harsh but I love it. I forgot about this song, and I love the passion in his lyrics.
Carly Rae Jepsen– Call Me Maybe:
Since we are close to the Olympics starting, I thought I’d throw this song into the mix since it was popular four years ago and various teams of the United States would make videos to this song. Plus, it’s a catchy song, and the end of the video is funny!
Fifth Harmony – Worth It:
This song is one of my favorites to listen to when I run, which isn’t often, lol.
Jennifer Lopez- Hit On The Floor:
I can’t dance to save my life, but this song makes me want to go on a dance floor, it’s high energy and fun! Plus, I hope I look as stunning as Jennifer Lopez when I’m 47.
LMFAO- Party Rock Anthem:
This music video is ridiculous, and I’m still laughing at the premise of the video. This is another song with great energy.
One Republic- Counting Stars:
This song has been out for three years, and I still love it. For some reason, this song never gets old for me.
Justin Bieber- What Do You Mean?:
I love this song, and I think this song is a lot of females. They send mixed signals to guys, and I love hearing the frustration from Justin because I’m sure a lot of guys have felt this way.
