Welcome to She Rocks The Suburbs and thank you so much for visiting. This website has been a few years in the making, and I’m so excited to be finally launching something I am proud of. To kick off my first post, I answer ten questions to help you get to know me and what my blog will be about. Thanks so much for joining me on this crazy journey and please make sure to follow me on social media for updates on my blog!
Ten ridiculous but legit questions you may have about me and my website
1.) First off, you are probably wondering if I rock the suburbs?
It depends on who you ask, but I love living in the suburbs so by my standards I rock it! Some families probably rock the suburbs better than mine, but that’s okay since we aren’t on a reality TV show. Although, a reality show called “Who rocks the suburbs?” could be a great concept. I imagine lavish parties, drama on who to invite, who made the best casserole, and who decorates the best for holidays. In my head this show has potential.
2.) What’s so great about the suburbs?
I might be a snob since I live in one of the best cities in the country, no seriously but that’s not why I love living in the suburbs. The truth is, I could live anywhere, well somewhere safe, and rock it as long as I have my squad with me.
3.) Wait, who is your squad?
My husband, daughter, and four pups. I know, you probably think we are crazy dog people, and we might be. I promise we are not dog hoarders.
4.) But seriously, what is so great about the suburbs?
Oh yeah, I have a short attention span. I love the suburbs because the houses have nice front yards thanks to HOA’s, we are close to shopping and restaurants, and I love how family oriented it is. This isn’t to say city life can’t have these same benefits, but I prefer the suburbs. I could keep going on, but I don’t want to bore you because it’s not that exciting of a topic.
5.) What is your blog about?
Great question, and honestly it’s a little bit of everything about my life. Maybe once I get started, I will narrow it down to a few categories but for now, I will write about whatever tickles my fancy.
6.) Can you please be more specific?
Sure, my blog will have tales of living in the suburbs, great recipes, easy DIY projects, crafts you can do with kids, travelling ideas, and ways to save money (and make money). I may also sprinkle in some music playlists because I love music, talk about my garden, and will make a big deal IF I work out.I’d like to think there is something for everyone.
7.) What do you do in your free time?
I’m a mom to a crazy cute four-year-old, and I do whatever she wants. I love taking her to new places, trying new projects with her, and teaching her the ways of the world. However, I’m more than a mom and enjoy going to concerts, travelling, hiking, gardening, attempting to craft, watching/attending live sporting events, and binge watching TV shows. Also, I occasionally blog for my husband at ReportingKC.com.
8.) Why start a blog?
I started my first blog while I was pregnant with my daughter and enjoy blogging because I have an awful memory except when it comes to obscure 90’s lyrics. I’m also not passionate about anything in life except my life. Another reason, my husband started a blog last summer and seeing how much he enjoys it has inspired me. We are huge soccer fans, specifically Sporting Kansas City fans and he began his blog and eventually moved to a bigger network where he’s been successful. It’s been fun watching him on his writing journey and made me think if he can write about something he is passionate about then I can too.
9.) So tell us more about you?
Well, not to bore you with every fact of my life but I grew up in San Diego and moved to Missouri for College when I was 19. I had some trying times in Missouri, but it’s also one of the best decisions I’ve made, and I hold a special place in Missouri in my heart. It’s where I learned who I am, where I met some of my best friends, and it’s where I met my husband. However, I hated the cold and wanted to be closer to my family so after I graduated my husband, our three dogs, and our cat packed up and moved to Arizona where we currently reside. I mostly love Arizona but hate the Summer’s which is when I miss San Diego and Missouri. My life goal is to split my Summers in San Diego and Missouri. I’m not sure what scenario would provide me this opportunity, but I’d have the perfect life if I could make it work.
10.) What do you look like?
I’m glad you asked. To help you get to know us better here are a few pictures of my family and I.
So this is me in an enormous and broad nutshell. I’m sure there are some earth shattering questions you are dying to know about me and if so, please comment below!
Thanks again for visiting and joining this wild ride with me!
